What ceiling height and clearance do I need?
For safe installation, the fan blades should be at least 7 ft above the floor. Leave enough clearance around the blade span and keep the fan away from walls, beams, doors, and other obstructions. The included downrods help adapt the fan to different ceiling heights. For high or vaulted ceilings, please measure the distance from the ceiling to your desired blade height before ordering.
Which downrods are included? Can I order a longer one?
The fan includes three downrods: 5 in and 10 in. Choose the length that positions the blades at a safe and effective height for your ceiling. Need more length? Compatible 36-inch and 48-inch extension downrods are also available for purchase separately. Please contact us before ordering to confirm the correct option for your ceiling height and fan model.
Can I install this fan outdoors or on a covered patio?
This fan is designed for indoor use only. Do not install it where it may be exposed to rain, direct moisture, high humidity, or wind-driven water. For a covered patio, porch, gazebo, or other outdoor area, choose a fan specifically rated for damp or wet locations.
Why does such a large fan rotate more slowly?
Large HVLS-style fans are designed to move a high volume of air across a wide area—not to create a harsh, concentrated draft. Its large blade span circulates air efficiently at a lower RPM, creating a smoother, more comfortable breeze throughout the space.
